Fraud Warnings

This section contains known frauds of which First Financial Bank wants you to be aware. These frauds may or may not directly target our customers, but it may be useful information to help you stay prepared for future scams.

An e-mail phishing scam was recently detected by First Financial Bank. It involves sending an e-mail to customers notifying them of "unauthorized activities and attacks on our network servers."

In April, the Texas Comptroller’s Office publicly announced that the names, addresses, Social Security numbers and driver’s licenses of more than three million Texans were inadvertently stored on a publicly accessible website. The information exposed on the website included data from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), the Texas Workforce Commission and the Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS).

You are your own best defense when it comes to protecting your personal information. An email phishing scam was recently detected by INTUIT, provider of personal financial management software. The email directs recipients to a link where they can update personal information. Please visit security.intuit.com for additional information.

Due to the prevalence of "phishing" and "pharming" scams, First Financial Bank would like to remind our customers to take the proper precautions while navigating the web. Never provide your Social Security number, passwords, card, pin or account numbers in response to an unsolicited request. We have recently detected a pop-up message phishing scam when infected users attempt to login to Online Banking. Please click the heading for additional details.
